I came across this picture, which I had intended to post last year, of my a cappella group The Noctonals. We hail from various college groups at both UVa and VA Tech.
We all look so happy because we just finished our first miked gig, a charity dance marathon in the District.
Since this picture was taken we've gigged on street corners, house parties, metro stations and gotten into our fair share of shenanigans. We've also grown, taking in at least four members since this picture.
More about the Noctonals at www.Noctonals.com.

Eunice and Sam Get Hitched
I went to Eunice and Sam's UVa-themed wedding last week. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception befitting a beautiful couple. The orange and blue accents offset the 18th-century plantation house flawlessly.
The bucolic Virginia countryside was the perfect backdrop for the evening.
Each place was set with these beautiful orange-red buds.
The blonde musketeers!
DH and Rachel showing us how it's done.

Dan and Grae are just too much.
Blonde bombshells. I can't get enough of these two.
Newdo love! Various crusties from our college a cappella group.
George and his steed.
Putting the ass in class.

A few late Easter pics
Another Easter at the lake came and went, and I sat on a couple hundred pictures of the weekend. Until I got a text from PSF saying, "Blog, bitch."
She's scary, but got me to finally look through my pictures and share a couple of my favorites.
A beautiful weekend at Lake Monticello. Perfect for lounging around on the dock or taking a swim.
We made our annual bunny cake. This year the ears and bow tie were made with gluten free cake that was miraculously edible!
Bonnie and the baby.
She's eating snap peas if you can believe it.

The Last TARC
Two weekends ago I worked my last Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC).
This was my fourth TARC. Last year I got some awesome launch pictures. The year before I shot Chef Duff (from Ace of Cakes) launching a cake rocket. Most of you (anyone who's friends with me on facebook) know I left AIA in February to apply to art schools! I've been accepted to study graphic design at the Corcoran College of Art + Design, but don't start until August. In the meantime, I've been contracting with AIA, hence another visit out to Great Plains for the rocket contest.
It was a beautiful day to shoot rockets. A hundred of the top teams from across the U.S. came together to launch rockets withe exact specifications, returning a raw egg payload safely.
For the second year in a row, the big day also featured rocket building, where teams that have spent months honing their rockets can start all over with new designs.
And another perennial favorite: Aerospace Jeopardy. Some of these questions were really hard!
It was a great weekend, and a reminder of fun times at AIA. I'm so excited to be studying graphic design, but damn if rockets aren't pretty exciting too!

The Graduation
It's that time of year; we all know someone graduating. Diplomas are conferred, hands are shaken and checks are deposited at the bank!
Bonnie earned her J.D. over the weekend at George Washington Law School. Congrats!
Bonnie gets help for the big day from both Emily and Mike's Hard
Posing in the kitchen.
The graduate. Notice the freshly painted red door. Got it done just in the nick of time!
I'm sorry PSF. I love you so much I just can't resist sharing you with the world. :)
Mike's Hard in Hand.
Let the pictures begin! Bonnie and Emily start us out.
PSF helped Bonnie get through school with weekly trips to Chesapeake and on-demand Diet Snoke runs.
True story: just two nights before graduation, Bonnie phoned home at 11:00 pm with a frantic call for Dad to come pick up a dead mouse at her apartment. She's much happier today!
Doctors. LOL.
The Schumacher girls are the best paparazzi blood relationships can buy!
Bonnie and her bankrollers!
Dad dancing for us while Mom keeps shooting.
How can you not love the Schumachers!?!
THERE'S the glamor shot to make up for the gotcha picture earlier. Pretty girl!
Ray-Bans and pearls go together like Siegfried and Roy.
Damn, girl's got some hair on her.
Mommy relaxing before the ceremony begins.

Spot the Bonnie!
Thanks to an act of god (Bonnie's classmate Hannah) we skipped the morning commencement ceremony on the Mall and just attended the law school ceremony. Four hours of sitting was enough for us, although Brian Williams reportedly did an awesome commencement speech for the morning ceremony.
Packed like sardines.
Bonnie shakes the Dean's hand, grabs her degree. We settle in for another 90 minutes of graduate names D-Z.
Beautiful DC as we make our escape.
