Just getting back from an impromptu lake weekend, hopefully the first of many this season.
The lake was quiet and empty; in my mind it quickly turned into the backdrop for a Walking Dead episode. Once you got up close to the water though, it was obvious why people were avoiding contact:
Pollen literally coated the entire surface of the lake in yellow melanomas. It is OK, nay - expected, for lake bottoms to be slimy and gross, but lake tops? No thank you.
Instead of taking the plunge into the chalky yellow pollen-water this weekend, we invested time in ping pong, air hockey, trivia and Settlers of Catan.
