The other night, my a Capella group, The Noctonals, did a street gig outside of Ballston metro stop. We started out with a dedicated audience of one (Yeah, Mama Worthington!!!) but after a few numbers, we had a solid audience of a dozen. And I'm not even counting the folks waiting for metro buses and an encampment of homeless people nearby.
It is so nice to go out and actually perform our pieces after rehearsing them and singing them to ourselves week after week. Ultimately, we're performers, so getting in front of a crowd is very rewarding.
Danny serenades the throngs of adoring fans. Not pictured - the security detail we had to hire to keep the crowds away from the performers.
Kate's botox hasn't quite settled in yet, but isn't that pashmina gorgeous?
James is too cool for school. He looks so tough, but the UVa cross-sabre logo lets you know he's smart too.
Grae and Mamma Worthington. Adorable mother-daughter-bokeh shot.
Doesn't Danny look handsome when he's singing?
