Last night in U.S. for a while

Tonight, friends, is my last night in comfortable, suburban America for several months. Tomorrow I embark on a three month adventure, where I'll be studying Spanish in beautiful Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires Research
The above picture shows how seriously I've taken my guidebook-buying responsibilities. However, I have yet to crack open one of these books, so I'm woefully unprepared for what will hit me when I arrive in Buenos Aires early Tuesday morning.

I am going to miss the ease of life in Arlington, living rent-free in my parents' house, driving my car to a job I've had for three years. I have a wonderful circle of friends, and it seems like I have plans booked for every minute here.

The next three months will be the adventure of a lifetime!

Argentina will be a complete departure from the past several years. I've reserved a furnished apartment sight-unseen, so keep your fingers crossed that I'm not walking into a scam. Just in case the apartment isn't what was advertised online, or if the rental agency seems untrustworthy, I've researched some alternatives, although I hope it doesn't come to that.

Weekday mornings I'll be taking Spanish class at Vamos, and I'll spend the afternoons working remotely.

As of tonight, I don't know a soul in Buenos Aires. I have friends and family who have thankfully given me contact information of people they know in the city, so I will have an emergency net should I need anything before I can build my own support system.

With any luck, my next blog post should come Tuesday afternoon, from my new apartment in Buenos Aires!
