Another bánh mì post

Alright so it has been a couple of days since I've mentioned bánh mì on this blog, so I have to give another shout out. (Maybe I should rename the blog "The Bánh Mì Chronicles".)

So just a couple weeks after I first professed my love for bánh mì, I get an email that a new bánh mì truck will start doing lunch service throughout Arlington! What the what! The company, Rebel Heroes, sells made to ordered bánh mì plus more updated fare like cubanos and meatball subs.

You have to track the Rebel Heroes truck by facebook or twitter to see when it will be serving up the good stuff. The truck had only been making the rounds for several days when I saw it was stopping in Rosslyn. Needless to say I organized everyone in my office to make an expedition up the hill to where the truck was parked.

The truck is pretty cool by its own right - three people are inside cooking up each sandwich to order. Plus, do you see what is proudly displayed on the counter? Sriracha! It is like a match made in heaven. I'll probably get married in front of this truck.

Chicken Bánh mì

The chicken bánh mì was delicious (but still not up to Song Que standards). The chicken was delicious and moist and the vegetables were crisp and flavorful. The bread seemed very bread-y, although the crust was nice and chewy, the roll's innards seemed like plain white bread.

But I'm probably just looking for things to complain about.  I'm going to have to figure out my next bánh mì adventure - maybe I'll have to make a quick stop to Ho Chi Minh one of these days.
