An American in Paris

Maite, originally uploaded by Plaszloc.

Or, if you want to get nit-picky: A Parisian in New York.

Maite is one of my few good friends that I still keep in touch with after my Singapore study abroad - search my blog, and you'll see that she's popped up several times over the years.

Last week I received an email from Maite that she would be in the Big Apple for an internship, and would have all-day this past Sunday free.

Translation: get your butt up to NYC and visit me!

She didn't exactly have to twist my arm. But what an ordeal, coming straight from Foxfield on Saturday to catch a train up to the City! Maite and I had a great time despite the rainy, frigid weather. I got to introduce her to my friends Adam and Deva, who she loved of course!

The weekend was a total whirlwind, with so much happening on so little sleep. I took a personal day from work today, and let me tell you - boy what a luxury to sleep until 9:30 on a weekday! Back to the grindstone though - it is so worth it for weekends like these.
